DIFFERENT REALITIESDIFFERENT REALITIES

SEPTEMBER 2022   JERUSALEM   COLLABORATION NATIONAL MUSEUM
During my exchange semester, I attended a course on Universal Design. But shouldn’t design always be universal? Where are its limits?
The course focused on developing an aid for a museum to make visits easier for people with disabilities. For my concept, I chose a different approach: instead of creating a direct aid, I focused on raising awareness. I designed objects made from everyday items that temporarily restrict certain senses. Visitors wear these objects at the beginning of the exhibition, allowing them to experience a form of limitation firsthand.
The goal is to sensitize visitors to the needs of others—fostering greater understanding and a stronger willingness to help.

What could it mean to have a disability?

Growing awareness through personal experience.

Visual, auditory, and physical impairment through daily objects.
